Painting bottles for Madwell....

In 2010, I started to have interesting relationship with "BOTTLES."



In July, I painted "perfume bottles" for Watermill Art Center, Mr. Robert Wilson; in November, I was doing a commissioned project, "golden bottles" for Madwell, a women's clothing store.

Mimicking the metal-like color and texture..........

Recently, I finished two new piece for "My Hero Series." It is very strange. After coming to the States, I started to have strong interest in our President, Chiang Kai-shek. However, he is not really our President. In Taiwan, some people hate him very much; some people admire him also very much. One the one hand, the complicated history of Taiwan resulted in his controversial character; on the other hand, he is the person who caused our controversial history. Actually, my "Flow series" started from this piece "Inner Landscape."
Nobody knows these semi-liquid body fluid coming from where, but I know they want to ingulf everything, including you and me. I enjoy on these automatic process and unpredictable result.

Under the innocent appearance, there are large amount of nasty desire growing. When they can not feel satisfied, they will eat and play with their excrement. it may be disgusting for us, but it's the luxurious treasure for them.

Shearing your beard..

Standing in front of the mirrior, I used my father's shave to mimic him, shearing my illusional beard.

However, no matter how hard I tried, I still could not achieve it. What I got are just foam, blood, and frustration.
